Job Description

Based in Mornington with funky shared offices including table tennis and an open fire to keep you cosy in winter, we are a small but dynamic Mortgage Broking firm and require an experienced Mortgage Broker Assistant to support the business owner in all aspects of Mortgage Broking.

The Role

Your main aim is to take the load off the Mortgage Broker’s shoulders so they can focus on what they do best (bringing in the business), while your A-game is crunching the numbers! You’ll research the best lender, loan structure, product and policy including serviceability calculations.

 

You’ll be highly client facing and the main business contact for clients throughout an application. You’ll be communicating with clients for outstanding information, producing loan proposals for the broker to discuss with the clients and then moving them through to application stage for the Loan Processor to lodge.

 

Working closely with and overseeing the Loan Processor who takes care of all the data entry means you’ve got a great resource to assist you with pricing and valuation requests and other administrative tasks so that you can focus on doing what you do best.

 

You’ll assist with post settlement client maintenance, managing outsource marketing and other day-to-day business operation activities giving you lots of variety in the role.

 

You’ll be provided with systems and process training with a wealth of resources on hand to lean on throughout the day.

 

About you:

You’re a lending Ninja! You’ll have minimum 2 years experience in the mortgage broking industry (Cert IV or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking preferred) and be highly skilled in bank policy and the loan application process. You’re likely a broker who loves the number crunching and analytical aspect of broking but not the pressure of sales and lead generation.  

You’re highly motivated, a fantastic communicator and your attention to detail is through the roof! You’re a team player but with the ability to work autonomously under pressure and meet key deliverable deadlines.

 

You’re process driven and love checking the boxes as you move through each stage of the process. You’re open to embracing technology in business and can pick up new systems easily with the appropriate amount of training.

 

You’re a go-getter, and want to find the solution rather than wait for the answers to present themselves and can think laterally to find that solution.

 

You take the job seriously but not yourself seriously. We like to have a laugh and believe that if you are going to work then you may as well enjoy it!

The Benefits:

A base salary is on offer with a generous bonus structure based on business profitability and timeframe deliverables.

There may also be the opportunity for this position to lead into a mortgage broking role for the right person if you want to advance your career.

We’re currently working remotely so the role initially is working from home but once restrictions are over we’ll be back in our office in Mornington so your ability to both work virtually but then attend the office is critical.
