Operating Budgets is a core team within the Financial Planning (FP&A) organization. You will partner closely with the Division Controller and Corporate Accounting teams to understand business drivers affecting the financial statements, produce consolidated forecasted financial statements, and support the annual budgeting process.

Your work will include developing divisional goals, evaluating financial performance, maintaining operating statistics for the company, and presenting results to senior management. Output also supports Investor Relations guidance and Earnings Calls. You should expect to support multiple cross divisional projects and processes.

What you will do

  • Advise the senior executive team and Board of Directors on the company’s financial performance and near term financial outlook, incorporating internal and external factors that affect the business
  • Build, maintain, and improve forecasting models to increase accuracy and relevance while aligning with organizational goals
  • Partner with Division Controllers and Commercial Planning teams to preserve forecast accuracy and drive performance against company goals and KPIs
  • Create detailed cause and effect analyses for senior management on complex financial topics to support strategic decisions
  • Collaborate across the company to understand business unit impacts on the company’s bottom line
  • Assemble Board of Directors materials that justify large projects and explain financial performance and forecast expectations
  • Act as a consultant to other internal groups to support analytical and financial needs
  • Produce reports reviewed by the CFO and other key executives
  • Develop materials for earnings calls and Board of Director meetings

All you will need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a concentration in Finance/Economics or equivalent training/experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, Financial Services, or Consulting, including advanced financial modeling and analysis

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Airline or travel industry experience
  • MBA from a leading institution

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to apply a range of analytical approaches to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions for business, financial, and operational challenges
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both orally and in writing
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through initiative and motivating others in a dynamic team setting
  • Proven teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively across a variety of situations
  • Advanced problem solving aptitude, including the ability to logically define an appropriate analytical framework
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to conceptualize tasks in the context of broader enterprise goals
  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
