The Complex Director role, based onsite in Henderson, Nevada, leads profitable multi-office growth within a defined complex by shaping a business plan, managing P&L, and driving revenue through advisor and client acquisition, retention, tenure, and productivity. The position directs high-performing branches and associates, optimizes resources, and collaborates across the operations team to support the complex.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for own branch and branches within the complex.
- Lead branch and associate managers, advisors, and partner with operations staff and other resources supporting the complex.
- Lead from the front by implementing effective strategies.
- Demonstrate leadership competencies and execute the playbook to drive results.
- Assess the skills of branch managers and leverage talents to boost performance.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Implement the national recruiting strategy and oversee its execution with branch managers and recruiting partners.
- Recruit high-quality experienced advisors and develop novice advisors for your branch and the complex.
- Proactively generate leads for the local area pipeline and manage the end-to-end candidate experience.
- Understand the Ameriprise value proposition, craft the branch value proposition, and communicate it to candidates.
- Implement onboarding and ramp-up plans that drive growth.
- Drive profitable organic growth of the complex and branch metrics through active leadership, coaching, and delivering the Ameriprise Client Experience.
- Regularly review results and provide coaching on business planning, client acquisition, advisory services, investment solutions, and external practice acquisition.
- Lead the complex with integrity and uphold brand standards, client service, and client satisfaction.
- Maintain a legal and compliant organization.
- Perform front-line and second-level supervision to ensure sales activities align with client objectives, goals, and risk tolerance.
- Anticipate, manage, and resolve risk items to protect client interests; cultivate a local culture of peer learning, achievement orientation, and growth.
- Uphold Ameriprise core values including client focus, integrity, excellence, and community involvement.
- Conduct Quarterly periodic business reviews with the Branch Leader and Regional Sales Leader.
- Conduct Monthly results reviews with the Branch Leader.
- Hold weekly to bi-weekly one-on-one sessions with Level II+ advisors.
- Conduct bi-weekly results reviews with branch managers.
- Perform monthly reviews with branch and complex support staff.
- Make regular visits to branches within the complex.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-year program).
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be interchanged to meet the combined total years of minimum qualifications for education and experience.
- Active FINRA Series 7.
- Active FINRA Series 24, or S9/10.
- Active State Securities Agent Registration (S63 or S66).
- Active IAR Registration (S65 or S66).
- Active Life and Variable Contracts insurance licenses.
- Self-driven and achievement oriented with the ability to execute a predefined playbook and lead others to do the same.
- Strong presentation skills and executive presence.
- P&L expense management and the ability to analyze data and reports to identify opportunities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate a large organization to achieve results.

Compensation
Estimated base salary: $150,000 per year. Our pay-for-performance philosophy means total compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
