Job Description
Capitol Federal offers a supportive work environment with career advancement pathways and professional development opportunities. In this onsite role in Overland Park, KS, you will manage client portfolios while strengthening relationships through both investment guidance and relationship banking through deposit accounts and other banking services.
Responsibilities
- Sell securities to corporations, banks, individuals, partnerships, foundations, and trust customers that align with their needs, or purchase securities when customer objectives change or new needs arise.
- Advise customers on investment topics such as retirement planning, tax planning, income management, suitability, and investment objectives.
- Service and maintain current customer accounts by answering market questions, appraising customer portfolios, providing investment advice, and coordinating with other Bank departments as a liaison.
- Conduct investment research on products, market conditions, and the economy.
- Create and manage a personal marketing plan to identify target markets, prospect new customers, and expand portfolios for existing clients; monitor production activity to ensure individual sales goals are met.
- Participate in proactive team efforts that support departmental and company goals.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies and procedures, including safety policies and practices.
- Report unsafe activities to your supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years minimum of experience in a similar or related capacity, including preparatory experience (three to five years preferred).
- College degree plus a professional certificate or a postgraduate degree.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintain current licensing including Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 and Series 65), MSRB Series 52, and Kansas life insurance licenses.
- Demonstrated ability to sell and negotiate financial products.
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations requiring trust, credibility, and diplomacy, with communication that may involve motivating, influencing, educating, and advising others.
