Representative, Solutions Center - Financial Services
Job Description
Provide call-center support for investment professionals, plan sponsors, and members in a fully on-site role in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to incoming calls from investment professionals, plan sponsors, and members across a variety of topics
- Support multiple product suites, including current offerings and products no longer sold that still require servicing
- Interpret and apply updates and enhancements to both new and existing products using daily change communications
- Use consultative problem-solving to identify the question behind the question and uncover unstated needs
- Document conversations through established processes to strengthen member relationships
- Follow FINRA or other required licensure rules, Nationwide policies, firm requirements, plan documents, and applicable state and local laws
- Educate customers on tax implications, penalties and surrender charges, death benefit protection, lifetime income, and capital preservation/plan benefits
- Analyze issues to drive first-time resolution, escalating to internal partners when necessary
- Apply lean methodology in daily work through problem-solving meetings and team huddles
- Participate in monthly 1:1 meetings with leadership to build a career path strategy and set goals and expectations for success
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- FINRA Series 6 license required, or must be obtained within 120 days of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- ChFC, CLU, or other industry designations desirable
- FINRA Series 6 and/or 63 licenses preferred and may be required based on assigned product/line-of-business or distribution system
- Associates must acquire required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the timeframe designated by the business unit
- If required licenses/registrations are not obtained within the designated timeframe, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position
- Credit check may be required if a license is required for this position
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service or sales-related occupations
- Knowledge of various insurance products and the sales process
- Solid understanding of state and local laws related to legal implications of product features across states
- Understand the consequences of not following FINRA rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and common office software
- Ability to understand general aspects of plan/contract and use technology to enhance customer conversations

Location and Schedule
- Columbus, OH (onsite)
- Fully on-site role; a hybrid schedule requiring on-site presence at least two days per week begins after required licensing and certifications are obtained
Licensing and Work Authorization Notes
- Does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization
- Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program

Compensation
- National salary range: $46,345.00 to $75,500.00 per year
- Expected starting salary range: $46,345.00 to $60,800.00
