Job Description

The Staff Accountant – Finance Analyst role supports accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, and ensures GAAP compliance within a manufacturing, projects and service environment. This position contributes to month-end and year-end close, inventory and cost accounting, reconciliations, and financial analysis, including involvement in the Epicor ERP transition.

Responsibilities

Record and post monthly journal entries.
Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Maintain the general ledger and verify the accuracy of financial transactions.
Support inventory and project accounting, including inventory analysis, reconciliations, and cycle count adjustments.
Assist with standard cost maintenance and cost roll updates, analyzing manufacturing costs, labor variances, production variances, and overhead.
Help prepare cost of goods sold calculations and inventory valuations; maintain GAAP-compliant records in line with company policy.
Collaborate with Operations teams to enhance inventory accuracy and financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly analyses.
Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking.
Prepare sales and use tax schedules and assist with other regulatory filings.
Assist with annual physical inventory counts and ongoing cycle count programs.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and addressing auditor requests.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
2 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of GAAP, with a solid understanding of inventory accounting, project management, and manufacturing processes, preferably with project costing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
Experience using ERP systems, Epicor or similar.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
