Job Description

In this onsite role in Charleston, SC, you will work within the Corporate Finance group that partners with senior leaders and the Board of Directors, providing actionable insights while governing the corporate balance sheet to support strategic growth.
What you’ll do
The Analyst, Corporate Finance supports a wide range of corporate finance and governance activities, including underwriting and portfolio management, valuation support, reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and preparation of board and capital markets materials.
- Underwrite and manage various employee coinvestment funds, including reforecasting, semi-annual fund reporting, cash forecasting, and distribution governance.
- Coordinate with external affiliates on fundraising and investment reporting needs tied to sponsor equity positions in real estate ventures and investments in the Greystar parent company.
- Support senior team members and the Corporate Accounting team in reviewing quarterly external financial reporting to bondholders.
- Help prepare the call script for the CFO and a Q&A summary for the CEO in support of bondholder communications.
- Prepare quarterly updates for the Board of Directors, along with ad hoc memorandums.
- Produce quarterly performance packages for the Employee Equity Ownership Plan.
- Assist in reviewing Rating Agency opinions and preparing materials for periodic meetings or special transactions.
- Support the Annual 409A valuation process, including supporting documentation, review of valuation methodology, and drafting the Board approval memo.
- Support senior team members in capital markets transactions such as refinancing corporate bonds and renegotiating the line of credit.
- Assist with tracking capital allocation initiatives (including balance sheet initiatives, liquidity analysis, M&A, and corporate transactions) and create materials for Capital Allocation Committee meetings.
- Contribute to other team activities as needed on an ad hoc basis.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in banking, finance, or accounting, with demonstrated interest in commercial real estate and corporate finance.
- Strong quantitative background with demonstrated financial modeling experience.
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI such as Claude to streamline workstreams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage large volumes of work across multiple focuses with strong organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to workload management and professional development.

Reporting & travel: This position reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Finance and interfaces heavily with Greystar senior executives. Travel requirements are expected to be less than 10%.
