Job Description
Thrivent, operating through its Afton Union Financial Group in Seattle, is seeking an Associate Financial Advisor for a full-time hybrid role. The position supports a Lead Advisor with investment planning, insurance solutions, and ongoing relationship management for members, with an annual salary in the range of USD 100,000 to 140,000. This role anchors client interactions from a Seattle base, blending in-office collaboration with remote work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage confidential member and client communications, delivering clear verbal and written responses to sustain high satisfaction.
- Present or co-present product-focused seminars and workshops as required.
- Develop fund selection criteria and monitor performance against indexes, notably for WRAP accounts.
- Contribute to practice-level business planning when needed.
- Advise current and prospective members on suitable financial products and investment advisory services.
- Open and process product applications.
- Conduct in-depth research to support appropriate securities recommendations and investment guidance, including due diligence.
- Receive and enter securities trade orders from clients, including unsolicited orders.
- Explain and interpret insurance coverage, analyze exposures, and provide recommendations.
- Issue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contracts.
- Assist financial representatives with meeting preparation and follow-up for member/customer engagements.
- Collaborate with financial representatives to assist clients with product changes.
- Engage in and drive marketing efforts such as direct-mail campaigns, fraternal activities, seminars, and meetings.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned in line with licensure and business needs.
Requirements
- Securities licenses: Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65, and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration are required.
- CFP designation is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Money Guide Pro, Wealthscape, Morningstar, and Salesforce is highly desired.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Financial Services as a licensed advisor.
- Ability to multitask and maintain high-quality work amid frequent interruptions.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Basic understanding of the sponsoring advisor’s products and Thrivent Financial.
