Job Description

WaFd Bank is seeking a CFP® Financial Planner to strengthen its Financial Planning team in Seattle, WA, working onsite with support staff to deliver a structured, repeatable planning experience. In this role, you will execute and refine the firm’s planning process while helping ensure client deliverables are accurate, compliant, and clearly communicated.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as an integral member of the Financial Planning team.
Develop proficiency in WaFd Wealth’s standardized planning process and contribute to maintaining a structured, repeatable approach to plan creation, updates, and delivery in line with firm directives.
Perform quality control by reviewing plans for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Team standards before client delivery.
Participate in training and development opportunities for new analysts, including technical skills, planning philosophy, and client communication.
Build comprehensive financial plans in partnership with the Financial Planning team, including cash flow, retirement modeling, tax projections, insurance analysis, estate considerations, and other considerations.
Maintain ongoing proficiency with RightCapital and other planning systems.
Partner with Relationship Managers to support timely follow-up on client requests and seamless integration of planning into the client experience.
Create planning deliverables such as reports, summaries, and visual materials that communicate recommendations and progress toward client goals.
Support strategic initiatives by collaborating with Leadership on planning-related projects, technology enhancements, and process improvements.
Maintain the integrity of WaFd Wealth business needs across all account processes and servicing activities.
Use provided resources as needed and adhere to WaFd Wealth policies and procedures.
Complete and pass all assigned compliance courses and certifications as required.
Avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest and maintain client privacy and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

CFP® certification that is active and in good standing.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and organization.
Proficiency with RightCapital (preferred) and the Microsoft Office suite.
Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to client confidentiality.

Role Summary

The Financial Analyst prepares financial analyses and supports the company’s budgeting, forecasting, profitability initiatives, reporting, and process improvement efforts in partnership with the CFO.

Required Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major.
Prior experience with the annual budgeting process, including working with managers across the company.
Strong working knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), plus knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections, including knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Strong working knowledge of business enterprise and other computer software applications.
Demonstrated leadership and persuasion skills, with the ability to make recommendations and influence targeted audiences to adopt them.
