CFO - Chief Financial Officer
Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will direct the financial and accounting function for Northern Regional Housing Authority in Las Vegas, NM, providing reliable reporting, GAAP-compliant accounting practices, and leadership for budgeting, closing activities, reconciliations, and audit readiness. The CFO reports to the Board of Commissioners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all financial and accounting operations
- Ensure financial reports are accurate and issued on a timely basis
- Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute accurate monthly income statements
- Develop and maintain the annual operating budget
- Review month-end and year-end closing activities to support complete and accurate financials
- Maintain responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, and recurring transactions
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance related to all financial functions
- Report to the Board of Commissioners and lead audit efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Experience in accounting and finance
- Knowledgeable in government auditing standards
- Ability to perform the job successfully
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA preferred
Compensation and Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. Pay is dependent on experience.
