Data Analyst - Finance

The Data Analyst will provide analytical and organizational support to Finance operations and management at Auto Club of Southern Calif. This onsite role in Costa Mesa, CA focuses on reporting, data processing, and visualization, including the development and maintenance of a predictive churn model.

Key Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, develop SQL scripts and long-term reporting using tools and languages such as SQL, Teradata, Tableau, and Excel; identify and analyze trends and apply root cause analysis with practical solutions.
• Deliver ad hoc data analysis across multiple source systems using SQL, Teradata, Tableau, Excel, and Access.
• Design, build, and maintain a predictive churn model; develop internal reports on key churn indicators and provide ad hoc reporting as required.
• Organize projects with clear planning to support timely delivery of initiatives.
• Document existing and newly created processes for implementation in production systems.
• Meet with Team and Management regarding semi-complex production reporting and enhancements, including discussion of challenges with recommendations and solutions.
• Collaborate with other Business Units, including Big Data, Marketing, and Product Management, to support shared goals and objectives.
• Query large data sets, validate data, and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Create specialized reports and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, including developing solutions for complex data problems.
• Develop calculations used to compute incentives, goals, and forecasts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in a traditional data or analytics corporate environment.
• 1–3 years of experience compiling, analyzing, and reporting qualitative and quantitative data.
• 1–3 years of experience manipulating data using SQL, Python, R, or related technologies.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong SQL skills with data mining knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA, macros, and complex calculations.
• Ability to rapidly learn new processes, databases, and applications.

Preferred Skills

• Tableau experience.
• Python experience.
• Experience with statistical churn modeling.

Compensation and Location

• Location: Costa Mesa, CA (onsite)
• Salary Range: USD 74,500 - 99,500 per year
• Minimum Experience: 1 years
