Job Description

This on-site Financial Advisor position is based in Papillion, Nebraska, and centers on guiding military families through dynamic financial planning. The role includes company-supported training, licensing sponsorship, and a clear path to becoming an independent contractor Financial Advisor. The compensation is listed in the USD 55,000 to 60,000 per year range.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary financial planning coach for military families, crafting adaptable plans that pursue both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Provide guidance on daily money management, lifetime asset building, and protection against unexpected events.
  • Engage with the local community to attract new clients, with support from the district team and Home Office.
  • Establish direct connections within the military community by partnering with local military organizations, units, and allied institutions.
  • Help military families develop a comprehensive plan that includes savings and banking, investments and wealth management, and insurance and risk management.

Requirements

  • Military experience or affiliation
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven leadership skills

Training and Licensing Support

  • Sponsorship for full registration and licensing as a Financial Advisor, using available tools and resources to guide the process.
  • Structured training and test preparation to obtain the necessary securities and Life & Health licenses; no prior licensing required.
  • Role progression to a paid training role upon licensing completion, in partnership with a local district office.
  • Compensation during the trainee period begins with an hourly wage for three months and moves to a salaried structure with incentives for the remaining nine months.

Becoming an Advisor

  • Successful completion of the paid trainee program enables you to operate as an independent contractor Financial Advisor with First Command, running your own practice and earning income based on results.
  • No cap on earnings; compensation is based on competitive commissions, residual income, bonuses, and deferred compensation.
