Job Description

WSECU is hiring a Financial Advisor in Olympia, WA for a fully onsite role. This position includes a planned two-year transition into an established book of business, pairing client-focused advisory work with active relationship building.

In this role, you will guide WSECU members through personalized financial education and planning, offering customized financial planning and investment solutions while growing and maintaining investment clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of investment clients using the approved product list of the WSECU broker dealer, offering non-deposit investment accounts to eligible Credit Union members
  • Identify opportunities to help members work toward a range of financial goals
  • Build a member experience aligned with maintaining a book of business
  • Partner with front-line teams (branch and Contact Center) and other business lines to increase member penetration for investments
  • Conduct financial education seminars to grow clientele
  • Stay current on market knowledge, financial planning, technology, and wealth management tools to support membership
  • Achieve and surpass an annual revenue goal
  • Support advisory business development to maintain a consistent level of recurring income
  • Work with branch partners to help them reach their annual goals
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation, reporting, and CRM records in accordance with established procedures and compliance needs
  • Respond in a timely manner to suitability questions from Broker Dealer and OSJ
  • Complete all required continuing education for Regulatory, Broker Dealer, and Credit Union requirements
  • Represent WSECU Investment Management and WSECU with a positive, professional image
  • Contribute new ideas and strategies to improve production and work processes
  • Assist with enterprise-wide investment department initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, economics, or Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial sales position
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 and state life and health insurance licenses, or ability to obtain them within six months
  • Satisfactory background check and a clean record with securities regulatory bodies
  • Strong interpersonal communication, written communication, and telephone communication skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and percentages, plus experience collecting and analyzing data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to work under pressure, and ability to handle sensitive information

Compensation

USD 54,252 per year plus commissions and an annual discretionary incentive plan. Competitive pay is structured as $54,252/annually plus commissions and incentive.

Work Schedule & Location

  • Location: 330 Union Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501 (Fully onsite)
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Full-time minimum: 40 hours per week
  • Scheduling flexibility: required to meet service needs for this exempt position
