Financial Advisor
Job Description
Covenant Wealth Advisors is building long-term retirement income teams for families in transition. In this hybrid role in Henrico, VA, you will serve as a primary advisor for clients age 50+, focused on retirement income planning, tax strategy, and investment management. Qualified families are booked directly onto your calendar, and you support them for the next twenty years.
If you value structured planning, collaboration with specialists, and a career centered on client relationships, this position is designed for that. You will also have clear capacity planning and staffing to match it, so your schedule stays manageable as your book grows.
Compensation and schedule
- Base salary: $110,000 to $167,500 per year, depending on experience and the revenue you may currently manage.
- Bonus: Quarterly revenue-sharing bonus tied to firm growth, generally 10% to 15% of base salary.
- 401(k): 4% employer match.
- Hybrid schedule: four days in the Richmond office, one day remote.
- Year one vs. year five: In year one, about half your time is meeting new families and half is serving them. As your book fills, that balance shifts. At full capacity (approximately 100 to 115 households), most of your week is spent with clients you know well, supported by associate advisors and a service team.
What you will do
- Act as the primary advisor for client families, including retirement income planning, Roth conversion analysis, Social Security timing, tax optimization, investment management, and estate coordination.
- Meet with pre-qualified prospects from the firm’s marketing and referral network, understand their goals, and determine fit.
- Collaborate with the firm’s in-house CPA, EA, associate advisors, and paraplanners on complex situations, with structured support so you are not working alone.
- Contribute to improving processes, client experience, and outcomes.
Tools and platform support
Work with MoneyGuide Pro, Holistiplan, Tamarac, Wealthbox, YCharts, and Schwab and Fidelity custody.

- Strong communication: you listen before advising, write clearly, and build trust through competence.
