Why Northwestern Mutual in Boulder (hybrid): This role supports client-focused financial planning while offering an income model built for growth, plus programs and allowances designed to help you develop early. Compensation: Salary/income range is USD 50,000 - 200,000 per year, with first-year income falling within that range. Income performance varies by advisor, with an average income of $635,000 for advisors who have been here over 5 years. Top performance includes $1.6M (top 25%) and $2.3M (top 10%).
What you’ll do
Financial Representatives at Northwestern Mutual help clients through personalized financial planning. The work centers on building a clientele, educating clients on planning options, making recommendations, and developing and maintaining client financial plans over time.
- Build: Grow a clientele by strengthening trustworthy relationships and deepening knowledge of NM financial products and market trends.
- Educate: Continue learning beyond initial training through sponsored licensing, registration, and ongoing development.
- Educate (client education): Use assistive software, reporting tools, and illustrations to explain financial planning options.
- Influence: Drive clients toward action by providing honest recommendations focused on protection and prosperity.
- Own (business development): Take ownership of business development and management as you master your craft and build a team.
- Own (plan maintenance): Review and maintain client financial plans and continue providing optimum advice aligned to client needs.
- Own (independence support): Be in business for yourself, while not by yourself.

What you’ll bring
- Education: 4-year degree; or equivalent professional work experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Prior sales and/or business experience preferred.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial ambitions and a desire for continuous learning.
- Client relationship skills: Experience building meaningful relationships and interpersonal skills for client-facing success.
- Organization: Excellent time-management skills.
- Work authorization: Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Location: Must be located in the greater Denver/Boulder area or planning to move imminently. Boulder, CO 80301 (Required).
