Financial Consultant Associate

Popular Bank is hiring a Financial Consultant Associate for the NYM Region 2 team. The position is commission-based only and blends client needs assessment with ongoing portfolio monitoring and recommendations. You will work in a hybrid model in New York, NY, with support that includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customers in relation to financial needs, current holdings, and available investment capital by listening, uncovering needs, and educating clients on the bank’s investment program products and services that fit their situation.
• Assist clients in identifying their investment objectives.
• Pro-actively gather information from prospects and clients to understand changing circumstances, needs, and desired benefits, then evaluate product or service alternatives.
• Establish and maintain a thorough prospect file, review, and access it on a scheduled basis.
• Monitor customers’ portfolios and provide recommendations aligned with changes in economic and financial conditions, as well as customer needs and objectives.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED with at least four years of related experience in financial services or a retail organization. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred along with relevant years of experience.
• FINRA Series 6 and 63, and NY State Life and Health Insurance licensing are required.
• Knowledge of financial products and services connected to investment activities, including examples such as Securities, Annuities, Life Insurance, Funds Flow Analysis, Investment Operations, and the application of rules and regulations.
• Proven ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services based on those needs.
• Strong sales capability including presentation, marketing, and negotiation skills.

Base salary range (New York City): $62,400.00 to $64,350.00 annually, depending on business need and qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or other remuneration or benefits.
