Job Description
Senior-level financial planner in Chapel Hill, NC (onsite), providing guidance to high-net-worth individuals, families, and organizations on financial planning and fiduciary matters while leading relationship management within a wealth management team.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with current and prospective wealth management clients, delivering tailored, high-touch service.
- Regularly engage with clients to assess evolving needs, identify opportunities, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication and thorough documentation through CRM tools and workflows.
- Build new investment management and trust relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, businesses, and charitable organizations.
- Implement an active business development plan, including outreach to attorneys, CPAs, and other key referral sources.
- Participate in community and professional organizations to broaden presence and influence.
- Lead and coordinate financial planning and fiduciary activities for clients, collaborating with internal partners.
- Stay current on regulatory, tax, and planning developments and share insights with clients and team members.
- Ensure trust accounts are administered in accordance with governing documents and fiduciary standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in investment-related business development, ideally within wealth management or trust services.
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFP or CTFA designation required.
- Proven success working with and marketing to high-net-worth clients.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop and grow client relationships and referral networks.
- Solid understanding of financial planning, estate planning, retirement planning, and trust services.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism.
- Self-directed approach with the ability to proactively guide clients through complex planning processes.
