Job Description

Northwestern Mutual - Hawai'i is seeking a Financial Services Associate to support financial advisors and their clients across both insurance and investment operations. In this Honolulu, HI onsite role, you will help keep advisor workflows moving by processing applications, managing service requests, and preparing client materials and reports.

Role focus

You will provide operational support that bridges insurance and investment needs. On the insurance side, responsibilities include application processing, underwriting, and handling servicing requests. On the investment side, you will support onboarding, funding, and account servicing activities, while preparing investment proposals and research reports to support advisor conversations.

Key responsibilities

  • Process applications with precision and efficiency
  • Manage the underwriting process and take action to move cases forward
  • Process service requests, including name and address changes, beneficiary updates, and billing updates
  • Collaborate with partners to support the development of high-quality financial plans
  • Prepare and manage the process of opening investment accounts
  • Prepare and manage client communications
  • Prepare Envestnet proposals for Advisory clients
  • Prepare Morningstar reports
  • Prepare materials for quarterly and annual reviews, including investment summaries and consolidated investment reports
  • Organize, manage, and coordinate back-office insurance and investment account services and support
  • Thoroughly document case notes, thought process, analysis, and assumptions
  • Provide general account servicing as directed by the advisor
  • Serve as backup support for processing inbound checks, as needed
  • Complete other projects assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a process-focused role (banking, mortgage, title/escrow, financial services)
  • Team player with a customer service mindset
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Tech savvy and comfortable learning new systems
  • Willingness to have fingerprints processed for a background check

Compensation & education

  • Salary: USD 60,000 - 70,000 per year
  • Minimum experience: 2 years
  • Education: Bachelor's (required)
