The Firm
Fundamental Wealth Designs was founded in 2023 by Billy Voyles, MBA, RICP, following 17+ years in the industry including senior roles at Allianz Life and Magellan Financial. He serves as a working fiduciary and has authored To Roth or Not to Roth (2024). The firm emphasizes a holistic retirement planning model that integrates tax coordination, retirement income, investment management, and estate considerations, with a client-acquisition infrastructure built prior to hiring the advisor who will run it.
What You Walk Into
You will enter a structured environment featuring a firm-funded seminar and workshop calendar that generates qualified appointments, a holistic planning model for retirees and pre-retirees, and a founder with substantial industry depth who will invest in your ramp. An established support team handles marketing, operations, and client engagement, while a media and content engine — including a published book, active YouTube presence, social channels, and community engagement across the Twin Cities — supports outreach.
Who This Is Not For
This is not an associate planner role. You will be in the room presenting, discovering, recommending, closing, and owning the client relationship from first handshake through implementation. If you are uncomfortable asking for the business after a workshop or first meeting, this role may not be right for you. It is also not suited for those who oppose insurance and annuity implementation within a retirement income model or who prefer a fully remote, in-market presenceless arrangement.
Preferred
- 3–5+ years of advisory production experience
- Direct experience converting seminar, workshop, or firm-generated lead flow
- Twin Cities market familiarity or a credible local network
- Experience within an independent or hybrid advisory firm serving retirees
- CPA, EA, or strong tax-planning fluency
