Lead Data Scientist GenAI, Financial Planning & Analysis - Strategic Analytics
Job Description
Deloitte’s Finance Financial Planning and Analysis organization is a key partner to executive leadership and the broader firm, translating financial and operational needs into decision-ready insights. Within that context, the Strategic Analytics team builds and deploys advanced analytics capabilities, including generative AI initiatives aimed at creating measurable value across the organization and for clients.
In this onsite role in San Diego, CA, you will lead data science efforts focused on GenAI and strategic analytics for finance-aligned outcomes. You will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and advanced analytics solutions, while helping shape prototypes and production-ready generative AI products that support strategic priorities in Finance.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions for business stakeholders
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, application programming interfaces, and model deployment workflows in cloud environments
- Partner with finance, strategy, and operational teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable insights
- Support the development of generative AI use cases, prototypes, and production-ready products aligned to strategic priorities
- Monitor solution performance, maintain technical documentation, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and adoption
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, data engineering, or software engineering
- 3+ years of experience developing solutions using Python
- 2+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- 2+ years of experience using SQL and working with relational or distributed data platforms
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Compensation
The salary range for this role is USD 102,500 - 188,900 per year. Deloitte notes that the estimate reflects a wide range of factors used in compensation decisions, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
