Senior Data Engineer - Project Accounting & Finance

A senior data engineer focused on building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to enable data driven decision making across the organization, collaborating with analytics professionals, architects, and data scientists within the IT Analytics Delivery group.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi disciplinary team of solution architects and data scientists within the IT Analytics Delivery group to address a broad set of business problems.
• Architect and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes, build integrations, and develop complex data models to support data driven decision making across all functional areas.
• Execute all phases of the data engineering project lifecycle independently.
• Develop subject matter expertise across multiple business domains and apply technical skills to solve complex problems.
• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to drive project success and mentor team members.
• Support analytics partners embedded in the business by delivering data to analysts across the company.
• Be an engaged, collaborative team member and take full ownership of work to exceed customer expectations.
• Work with analysts, developers, and data architects to ensure requirements are met and performance is optimized.
• Consult on design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions to complex data issues that enhance traditional star schema structures.
• Demonstrate data engineering expertise and deliver multiple end to end data warehouse projects in a Big Data environment.
• Provide production support, debugging issues across several reporting toolsets.
• Operate in an agile team to plan, design, test, and coordinate end to end delivery of solutions.
• Seek opportunities to broaden skills both functionally and technically.
• Design, create, and implement complex data models including canonical, conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Apply new design methodologies and best practices.
• Build, scale, and maintain data infrastructure and data products.
• Implement physical database models and tune SQL for optimal performance.
• Use ANSI SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis.
• Develop the infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources using SQL and big data technologies.
• Adapt to a matrix based, geographically distributed project team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of progressive related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics, SQL, and/or ETL development.
• Proficiency in data warehousing, BI development, and data modeling.
• 5+ years building large scale data sources in Oracle or an equivalent relational database.
• 3+ years' experience with API platforms such as MuleSoft or APIGee and ELT platforms such as Matillion or Informatica.
• Excellent SQL skills with PL/SQL development experience.
• Hands-on development experience with an ETL tool; Oracle Data Integrator preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud reporting and data replication; BI Cloud Connector Console, BI Publisher, and OTBI preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Programming skills in Java, Scala, and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and Git.
• Understanding of analytics platforms, use cases, and best practices.
• Experience with multiple data stores including RDMS, flat files, and columnar databases.
• Solid knowledge of dimensional modeling, data lakes, and data vault.
• Experience in cloud based environments and SaaS models.
• Experience with cloud warehousing products such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Redshift.
• Experience with MS Power Platform and Azure cloud environments.
• Experience designing data architecture and pipelines.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and debugging.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Travel up to 10 percent (domestic and international).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship available.

Travel and Work Authorization
