Senior Financial Advisor

First Command has an onsite, independent contractor role for a Senior Financial Advisor in Columbus, OH, supporting military families with end-to-end financial planning and long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assess and adapt each client’s evolving financial goals across wealth accumulation, preservation, and legacy stages.
• Conduct regular client meetings to review circumstances, monitor progress, and update plans due to life events, economic shifts, and regulatory changes.
• Create and implement comprehensive financial plans that combine investment management, retirement income planning, tax strategies, insurance solutions, day-to-day finance support, and estate considerations.
• Maintain a high-touch service model focused on clarity, confidence, and responsiveness to clients over time.
• Strengthen trust by delivering consistent value and guidance that helps clients make informed decisions.
• Build relationships with local and military community advocates and centers of influence to drive referrals and related opportunities.
• Work toward performance goals through tailored financial strategies, revenue generation, and ongoing relationship development.
• Grow your practice by expanding referral networks, especially within the military community, while deepening existing client engagement.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, with a proven record of building and retaining client relationships.
• Competence in portfolio and wealth management, including the ability to integrate financial products into long-term planning.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to connect with clients and develop trust through meaningful long-term engagement.
• Motivation and discipline to run an independent business, with flexible hours and unlimited income potential based on commissions and performance-based incentives.
• Military experience or affiliation is strongly preferred.
