Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Guitar Center Brand by evaluating business performance, constructing financial models, and delivering actionable insights to guide strategic decisions across key segments. This role works collaboratively with leaders across the organization to drive financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Create or refine financial models for reporting, results review, and forecasting.
- Conduct variance analyses against forecast, budget, or prior year results.
- Contribute to the division month-end close process.
- Monitor expenses and review results with organizational leaders.
- Produce financial reports and present concise findings to management.
- Extract data from multiple databases and perform advanced analyses that yield actionable insights.
- Engage with management at all levels to facilitate information gathering.
- Present financial information to the team and to non-financial partners.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business and its key performance drivers.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, functions, and efficiency techniques.
- Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
- Experience with financial systems such as Oracle EPM and PeopleSoft.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of P&L statements and the underlying financial levers.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
- Prior experience with Oracle EPM, PeopleSoft, or similar financial platforms.

This role is based at the Westlake Village, CA corporate offices on a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite per week.

Pay
Salary range: USD 95,000 - 110,000 per year, dependent on background and experience. This position is not eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program. The posting is not a guaranteed offer of compensation and actual pay will depend on experience, education, and other factors. The stated pay range complies with state-specific laws and may vary by location and qualifications.
