Senior Financial Data Analyst

System One is hiring a Senior Financial Data Analyst in Reston, VA (Hybrid) with a direct hire opportunity and local-candidate preference. This role centers on capital-related financial reporting and analysis using complex datasets, supported by strong SQL skills and the ability to communicate insights across technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support environments and perform comprehensive financial data analysis, with emphasis on capital-related reporting and insights
• Work with complex financial datasets and adhere to business requirements
• Use SQL to query and analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights
• Identify and interpret financial and accounting data, translating findings into actionable recommendations
• Communicate complex analysis results clearly to technical and business stakeholders
• Assist with analysis of derivatives and hedge accounting, with an emphasis on Basel regulatory capital requirements and ERCF
• Independently analyze data, interpret results, and deliver reports in a regulated financial services environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a financial services setting
• Strong SQL skills, including querying large and complex datasets
• Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial data effectively
• Knowledge of derivatives and hedge accounting is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Basel regulatory capital requirements and ERCF is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid: onsite expectation 3–5 days per week); direct hire. Salary: USD 85,100 - 110,000 per year.
