Senior Financial Planning Analyst
Job Description
Ledgent Technology is hiring a Senior Financial Planning Analyst in Irvine, CA (onsite). This role supports strategic financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and recurring financial reporting for a business unit or function. You will work closely with finance stakeholders while applying advanced analytics and strong Excel skills to translate drivers into clear recommendations.
Compensation: USD 75–79 per hour.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Develop, maintain, and deliver moderate to complex strategic financial analysis that supports day-to-day operations and key business decisions.
- Analyze financial and business information to identify key drivers at the business unit or functional level, assess issues, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations.
- Build and evaluate the fiscal year plan and forecasts, including multi-year financial projections.
- Support the annual budgeting process through analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
- Create and present moderate to complex business management reports and key financial metrics, including recurring financial analysis.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
What you’ll need to qualify
- Strong financial modeling, variance analysis, and financial reporting experience across budget, actuals, and forecast.
- CAPEX/OPEX understanding and experience supporting workforce (internal and external) / 3rd party vendors expense management.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills for high-complexity, high-ambiguity analysis, including Pivot tables and V-Lookups.
- Ability to solve problems, stay well organized, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Experience analyzing complex financial reports.
- General knowledge of mutual funds or investment management industry experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with the global finance team and business partners, including strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related degree.
- MBA preferred but not required.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with an enterprise accounting system such as SAP.
- Exceptional analytical ability to understand how operations impact financial results.
