Software Engineer Principal - Finance Technology

On-site Principal Software Engineer role in PNC's Finance Technology based in Birmingham, Alabama, focused on designing software solutions, delivering results, and guiding complex problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Translate business strategy into actionable software solutions aligned with objectives.
• Propose, design, and code software solutions to address complex business needs and oversee required technical and procedural documentation.
• Lead complex problem solving across initiatives and teams.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and for solution development.
• Apply modern principles, methodologies, and tools in innovative ways to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Requirements

• Finance and Accounting knowledge
• Proficiency with SQL queries
• Crystal Reports or comparable reporting tools
• Strong communication with Technology and Finance teams
• Understanding of data mapping between source application files and Frontier
• Frontier Application Administration including support and build tasks or comparable reconciliation tools
• Understanding Finance requirements (match rules) and developing solutions/designs that meet application and business needs
• 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Specific certifications are often required

Pay transparency

Base Salary: $65,000.00 – $187,200.00 per year. Salaries vary by geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. Incentive eligibility applies based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
