Job Description

Thrivent's Apex Financial Group in Fond du Lac, WI offers a structured entry path into financial advisory with strong mentorship, hands-on development, and the potential for partnership within the sponsoring team. This onsite, full-time role provides an annual salary of USD 24,000 and requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. You will join a practice focused on comprehensive financial planning, serving a broad client base while growing your own book of business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Apex Financial Group's practice operations.
  • Participate in joint fieldwork to build expertise and adopt best practices.
  • Meet with new and existing clients to grow a book of business and strengthen relationships.
  • Solicit and sell appropriate products, complete applications, write recommendations, and service existing clients and contracts.
  • Position products, services, and strategies to help clients gain financial clarity.
  • Build proficiency in common advisory tools and platforms such as Salesforce, Money Guide Pro, What-If Tax, and related systems.
  • Participate in events to attract new clients and provide financial education to the local community.
  • Research and respond to client inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Advisor on complex scenarios.
  • Schedule, prepare for, and document all client meetings.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.

Licensing and Training

During the first 8 to 13 weeks, you will study for and obtain the necessary licenses, which may include:

  • Resident state Life, Health and Annuity
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE)
  • Series 6 and 63, 7 and 66, or 7, 63 and 65

After licensing, you may enroll in a comprehensive 6-week training program.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain high quality work amid frequent interruptions.
  • Commitment to maintaining the integrity of sensitive and confidential information.

We are expanding and adding a Team-Based Financial Advisor to serve 13,000+ clients with a focus on comprehensive financial planning. We prioritize meaningful relationships over quantity. Apex operates seven offices across Wisconsin with a team of 60+ and its own operations staff, delivering wealth management, risk management, tax management and debt management services. This is a full-time in-office position.
