California State University, Fresno invites applications for the role of Assistant Athletics Director, Finance & Business Operations. This onsite position in Fresno, California supervises all financial operations of the Athletics Department, including budgeting, procurement, compliance, reporting, and long-range planning. The salary range is USD 80,000 to 87,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all financial activities within the Athletics Department to ensure sound fiscal management
- Develop and manage the department's annual budgets
- Oversee procurement and purchasing processes
- Ensure compliance with NCAA and university regulations
- Prepare and review financial reporting for internal and external use
- Lead long-range financial planning and strategy development
- Collaborate to develop annual budgets and contribute to ongoing budgeting processes
- Formulate a long-term financial strategy to support growth and sustainability
- Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accountability, and strategic decision-making across the department
- Maintain fiscal integrity and ensure compliance with applicable rules
- Maintain audit readiness and support external audits as needed
- Support financial sustainability of the Athletics Department
- Partner with university leadership to inform decision-making
- Maximize revenue opportunities within the department
- Advocate for and contribute to the ongoing growth of Fresno State Athletics
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of financial and budgetary principles, including forecasting, financial modeling, and position control
- Familiarity with research techniques, statistical methods, and data procedures
- Solid understanding of procurement practices and procedures
- Strong leadership, motivation, and performance evaluation capabilities
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and budgets and provide strategic recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management, business operations, or athletics administration
