Senior finance and commercial leader to shape the financial and commercial foundation of a confidential new venture in Unilever's Wellbeing Collective, El Segundo, CA hybrid, with a salary range of USD 146,200–USD 219,400 annually.
Responsibilities
- Lead the integrated business case and financial model for the venture, covering revenue, margin structure, and investment profile across multiple scenarios.
- Collaborate with the Innovation Lead to shape pricing strategy and pack architecture, ensuring alignment with margin targets and financial guardrails.
- Develop and steer demand and revenue scenarios to inform planning, tradeoffs, and key strategic decisions.
- Translate consumer, brand, and proposition inputs into clear financial frameworks and decision support.
- Own product costing and COGS development, influencing formulation, sourcing, and design decisions to achieve target margins.
- Serve as the financial and commercial partner to the Innovation Lead, grounding product, pricing, and GTM decisions in economics and scalable models.
- Evaluate commercialization pathways, including partnerships and route to market options, using robust modeling and scenario analysis.
- Define financial guardrails and metrics for the venture, including launch thresholds, payback expectations, and scaling triggers.
- Act as a core leader within the venture team, driving alignment, pace, and accountability across functions.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to the General Manager and leadership to support key decisions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive finance experience, with 8+ years preferred when including consumer packaged goods (CPG) exposure.
- Bachelor's degree; preference for Finance & Accounting or an advanced degree.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to develop robust business cases and guide investments in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, translating complex inputs into clear commercial and financial direction.
- Proven track record of influencing and aligning senior, cross-functional stakeholders to drive decisions and outcomes.
- Sharp judgment and decision-making, with confidence to challenge assumptions and navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high agility and resilience.
- Strong communication skills, capable of distilling complexity into clear, concise insights and recommendations for leadership.
