Job Description

Wells Fargo is hiring an Associate Private Client Financial Advisor (Loan Originator) in Wealth and Investment Management for an onsite role in Durango, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Wells Fargo Advisors training program focused on meeting personal, professional, and organizational client service and financial goals within the Financial Advisory - Private Client function
  • Review basic or tactical client goals and risk tolerance, assess investment profile, and evaluate client financial needs tied to lower risk tasks and deliverables with narrower impact
  • Receive direction from more experienced financial advisors and apply judgment within defined program parameters while building understanding of tools, resources, and coaching practices
  • Provide financial information, investment profiles, and client financial needs to more experienced financial advisors
  • Serve customers directly as part of customer-contact duties, including needs assessment and referring customers interested in a dwelling secured product to a SAFE team member
  • Assist customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms for a dwelling secured transaction

Requirements

  • 6+ months of Customer Service, Sales, Relationship Building experience (or equivalent), demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Successful completion of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam or equivalent
  • For Loan Originator (LO) positions: meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies, including standards for financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background
  • A current credit report will be used to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness (credit score is not included in the evaluation)
  • Meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if needed
  • US only: obtain and/or maintain appropriate FINRA license(s) for ongoing employment
  • Complete FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) and state Variable, Life and Health insurance licenses within a 90 or 180-day timeframe after commencement of employment, depending on how many licenses are needed if not immediately transferable upon hire
  • Comply with state law registration and licensing requirements (additional product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply)
  • Meet enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards
  • Subject to FINRA background screening: candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire
  • Not eligible if subject to statutory disqualification under FINRA rules (ineligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer)
  • Meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
  • May be subject to policies on outside activities and/or personal investing, including providing information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abiding by applicable requirements if hired
  • Not eligible for Visa sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

  • FINRA registration including Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • State Variable, Life and Health insurance licenses
  • Financial services experience
  • Client services experience
  • Experience developing and managing client relationships
  • Sales or sales support experience
  • BS/BA degree or higher

Job Expectations

  • LO positions must meet CFPB qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies
  • US only: complete FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) exams (or equivalents) plus state Variable, Life and Health insurance licenses within 90 or 180 days after commencement of employment
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the SIE exam co-requisite is required
  • Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening; candidates must complete and pass a background check prior to hire
  • Information about expectations will be shared during the recruitment process
  • Position includes assisting customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms of a dwelling secured transaction
  • LO position also must meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z as outlined in job expectations
