Data Analyst, Finance and Business Insights

The Business Analytics team at Eurasia Group is seeking a Data Analyst to deliver high-impact insights and build scalable reporting and analytics solutions. The role combines data development and automation, including dashboards, with financial and commercial analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to convert loosely defined ideas into business questions with clear objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
• Use data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop dashboards in Power BI and communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models, reporting layers, and analytical solutions using SQL and dbt.
• Develop and deploy production-ready code using Git-based workflows and standard CI/CD processes.
• Independently troubleshoot data issues, improve data quality, and resolve discrepancies across source systems, transformations, and reporting layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and maintain documentation for datasets, business definitions, and transformation logic.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, finance analytics, or a related role.
• Advanced SQL expertise and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with dbt and Git version control, including contributing production-ready code through standard development workflows.
• Proven ability to independently research, troubleshoot, and implement technical solutions with minimal day-to-day technical oversight.
• Strong finance and business acumen with comfort working with KPIs, P&L concepts, budgeting/forecasting, and business performance drivers.
• Experience building dashboards (preferably Power BI) and communicating insights to non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience using Python for automation and analytical workflows.

Role Details

• Location: Washington, DC 20009 (onsite)
• Compensation: USD 90,000 - 110,000 per year
• Minimum Experience: 5 years
