Data Analyst, Technology Consulting - Data & Analytics (Data Architecture & Engineering) - Financial Services Office (Manager)

EY's Financial Services Office in Philadelphia is seeking a Data Analyst within Technology Consulting to shape data architecture and engineering for financial services clients. The role combines hands-on design of modern data platforms and data products with leadership across cross-functional teams, delivering end-to-end data solutions from concept through delivery in a hybrid work setting.

Location: Philadelphia, PA (hybrid)

Salary: USD 218,230 per year

Responsibilities

• Assess business challenges and translate them into data architecture and engineering remediations.
• Partner with clients to transform how they use and govern data by designing modern data platforms, data products, and data marketplaces, delivering end-to-end solutions that enhance data supply chains, reengineer processes, strengthen risk controls, and enable information intelligence using advanced technologies.
• Resolve complex issues and drive growth initiatives across the financial services sector.
• Define data and analytics strategies by conducting assessments, recommending remediation approaches, and designing future-state solutions.
• Lead and coach diverse teams with varied professional backgrounds.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure accountability for project tasks and timelines.
• Propose and champion new technologies to improve or replace existing business processes.
• Develop thought leadership through white papers, point of views, and proofs of concept.
• Devise problem-solving strategies that combine logical and creative approaches.
• Engage and influence large teams and functional leaders to achieve outcomes.
• Maintain long-term client relationships and professional networks.
• Cultivate opportunities for business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Analytics or related field plus 5 years of progressive work experience; or a Master’s degree with 4 years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of combined experience in banking, capital markets, insurance, and/or wealth and asset management.
• Minimum 3 years assisting clients with strategic Data Architecture and Engineering, Cloud Data Modernization, Data Products, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Big Data initiatives, or Event-driven Architecture.
• Minimum 3 years in traditional data architecture practices including Master Data Management, Operational Data Analytics, Customer Data Hub, and/or Data Warehousing.
• Minimum 3 years working with Next-Gen platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and/or distributed databases.
• Minimum 3 years designing large data platforms, data warehouses, streaming applications, data ingestion pipelines, data storage patterns, and/or data integration pipelines.
• Minimum 3 years combined experience in at least one of: traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL); MPP (Redshift, Synapse, Teradata, Vertica, Netezza); NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j, Titan, Elasticsearch); Streaming (Spark streaming, Kafka, Confluent, Storm); DevOps (GitHub, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform); or Data Modeling (Data Vault, Star, Snowflake, Canonical).
• Domestic and regional travel up to 60% to meet client needs.
