Job Description

Join the AIGC DIGI team as a Data Engineer focused on building analytical data infrastructure for Amazon Ads finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review business needs and the existing tech stack/data landscape, then design, redesign, implement, and build analytical data infrastructure for multiple ads businesses
  • Partner with upstream and data partner teams to support reliable data solutions for the AIGC finance analytics environment
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, EMR, S3, Glue, and Redshift
  • Coordinate with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of source systems
  • Explore and adopt new AWS technologies to expand capabilities and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with and support Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) on reporting and analysis best practices, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements based on business questions and deliver scalable data solutions
  • Continuously improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes by automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL/ELT
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using OLAP technologies
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using data modeling
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using SQL
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using Oracle
  • 3+ years in the job offered or related occupation experience
  • 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) / ELT (Extract, Load, Transform)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines

Technical Skills / Tools

  • AWS: EC2, EMR, S3, Glue, Redshift
  • Data & query: SQL, ETL, ELT, OLAP
  • Data engineering: data modeling, ETL pipelines
  • Additional AWS services: Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, IAM roles and permissions
  • Data stores: non-relational databases; object storage; document or key-value stores; graph databases; column-family databases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores, including object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases

Team Overview

  • Builds and operates scalable data infrastructure and AI solutions for finance and business stakeholders across AIGC
  • Works closely with the APM Advertising Finance team supporting publishers including Stores, Amazon Business, Books, Grocery/Physical Store, Devices, Video, and Audio
  • Focuses on accelerating top-line revenue and improving profitability by evaluating ad supply monetization and utilization, product feature or sales package adoption, campaign performance, and other growth drivers

Location: New York, NY (onsite)

Compensation: USD 145,300 - 196,600 per yearly
