Job Description

T. Rowe Price is looking for an Individual Investor Holistic Advisor to help clients build strong, long-term relationships and translate goals into actionable advisory outcomes. Based in Owings Mills, MD, this hybrid role supports clients through financial planning, portfolio strategy, and ongoing guidance while maintaining appropriate compliance standards.

In this position, you will implement and coordinate advisory solutions for assigned clients, prepare financial plans across key lifecycle areas, and serve as a client-facing expert on topics such as portfolio construction and tax-efficient investing. You will also help clients transition from self-directed relationships to managed accounts when discretionary management is appropriate, escalating potential issues to senior staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • With general guidance, implements standard advisory solutions for assigned clients and assists with developing solutions, coordinating internal resources to carry them out.
  • Prepares and/or supports client financial plans across pre-retirement, retirement, insurance, tax planning, and estate planning.
  • Positions discretionary management as a way for clients to implement recommended plans and capture the full value of those recommendations.
  • Acts as an enrollment specialist to help eligible clients move from a self-directed relationship to a managed account relationship.
  • Explains the value of discretionary management, addresses objections, and redirects clients to alternative solutions when discretionary management is not appropriate.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and fluency in new capabilities related to investment advice, financial planning, and financial education.
  • May identify opportunities for improvement and present them to managers for consideration.
  • Supports client satisfaction by managing and delivering a range of basic solutions through advisory services, using consultative skills and ongoing personalized recommendations.
  • Provides expertise to clients on financial planning, portfolio construction, tax-efficient investing, and other advisory matters.
  • Supports alignment between a client’s risk appetite and available advice solutions, including ensuring implemented solutions remain compliant.
  • Escalates potential issues to more senior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Proven success building relationships, uncovering client needs, and recommending solutions
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66, or 63/65 licenses

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: USD 82,000 - 117,000 per year (Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers; Washington, D.C.; New York, California)

Preferred

  • CFP® designation (assistance provided to obtain professional designation)
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services providing investment management
  • Exceptional listening and presentation skills
  • Desire to quickly learn and implement new financial tools, technologies, and conversation expectations
  • In-depth understanding of retail investment vehicles

Training and FINRA Notes

  • Initial first two weeks include 5 in-office days for Individual Investors (II) Orientation
  • Training runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm local time
  • Two weeks of instructor-led training for II Orientation, followed by four weeks of advice-specific training with a 4:1 work schedule commencing
  • FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role

Posting availability: expected to be available until 11/4/2026. Base salary placement within the stated range is based on relevant experience and skills.
