Job Description
Nestled onsite in Rutherford, New Jersey, this Financial Analyst role supports the accounting and finance teams with reporting, analytics, and performance tracking against targets. You will partner with Sales and Procurement to develop timely reports and monitor KPIs, and you’ll participate in the month-end close and commissions/incentives processes. The position offers a salary of USD 75,000 - 90,000 per year and sits within a collaborative environment focused on accurate financial insight.
Responsibilities
- Support the accounting and finance team by participating in daily responsibilities and ad hoc requests, delivering analyses and reports to track performance against targets and prior periods.
- Partner with the Sales Team to provide timely sales reports that cover growth, margins, customers, market dynamics, pricing, and costing.
- Lead efforts to develop new and refined reporting to enhance visibility and decision making.
- Develop and refine financial models to improve analytics and processes for KPI monitoring and key business drivers, including regional multi-year analyses of freight expenses, commissions, incentives, product metrics, and customer metrics such as profitability, margins, credit, and collections; incorporate automation where possible.
- Research and reconcile outputs from multiple sources to validate data and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Deep dive into GL activity to identify mis-postings and support monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, audits, and related reporting.
- Participate in month-end closing and reporting processes, ensuring completion on schedule and compliance with the Controller’s Handbook and internal control procedures.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to track and reconcile vendor rebates.
- Support administration, analytics, and validation for commissions and incentives processes.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of FP&A or accounting experience.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is comfortable proactively reaching out across the organization.
- Solid understanding of core accounting areas: general ledger, accounting close, balance sheet, and interaction with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Four-year degree in accounting or related field.
- Strong technical proficiency in Excel; SAP or large ERP system experience is a plus.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new financial systems and processes.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
