Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst role at SCP Distributors LLC supports the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group by turning large volumes of information into clear insights about business performance and emerging trends. Based in the Corporate Support Office in Covington, LA, the position contributes to decision-ready reporting for Senior Management and for field and corporate support teams.

You will work with data across forecasting and reporting cycles, build and maintain financial databases, and support monthly close and board-level materials. The work blends analysis, attention to detail, and communication to help teams understand what is happening and where improvements may be possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports by collecting, formatting, and analyzing data to support understanding and forecasting of sales, gross margin, and expense trends.
• Build and maintain financial databases by identifying information sources, assembling and verifying data, and backing up datasets.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct root cause analysis, and evaluate business and process improvement opportunities.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive management decision-making.
• Prepare reports used during monthly financial close processes and for Board of Director meetings.
• Deliver financial and operational value-add reporting in a team-based environment for use by field and support management.
• Work comfortably with large datasets, translating complex information into actionable insights.
• Maintain strong data accuracy through high attention to detail and a commitment to verified results.
• Balance independent work with strong collaboration in a team setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer science, or Data Analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data query and reporting tools.
• Experience with Power BI and IBM Planning Analytics is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and accounting skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
