Job Description
The Financial Analyst role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at American Modern Insurance Group, part of Munich Re’s Global Specialty Insurance division. Based in Amelia, OH, this full-time professional position supports planning, reporting, and forecasting by turning financial data into clear insights on performance drivers.
Working in a hybrid setup, you will spend 40-50% of your time in the office in Amelia, OH. The role focuses on comparing results to prior year and plan, surfacing variances, and partnering across and beyond FP&A to strengthen transparency and decision-making.
Role Focus
- Analyze financial results, identify variances, and highlight potential areas of opportunity through reporting and forecasting
- Forecast future results and support both monthly and long range financial planning
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing transparency of result drivers
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and analyze financial reports showing actual results versus prior year and plan
- Collaborate with stakeholders in and outside FP&A to research variances and trends
- Assist with the development and implementation of the monthly and long range financial plans
- Participate in projects and initiatives to improve transparency of result drivers
- Complete ad hoc analyses and deliver presentations of results, plans, and forecasts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an advanced degree and/or CPA or CFA
- Must be located in or near Cincinnati, OH
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong attention to detail and a controls framework mindset
- Ability to connect numbers to ideas
- Strong written and oral communication skills to discuss financial report concepts with non-experts
- Strategic mindset and drive to deliver results
- Some experience with financial analysis and presentations
