Financial Data Analyst- Business Intelligence - Full Time (Hybrid)

The Guthrie Clinic is seeking a Financial Data Analyst, Business Intelligence to join the Strategic Insights team. This full-time hybrid role translates data into actionable financial insights and supports the Finance function by building business intelligence capabilities, advanced analytics, dashboards, and reports aligned with the organization’s financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and rollout of enterprise financial dashboards and reports, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and service line performance.
• Assist monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by implementing automated BI solutions.
• Convert finance requirements into clear data models, metrics, and visualizations.
• Maintain uniform financial definitions across departments and reporting outputs.
• Develop and sustain documentation for each solution, including requirements, project plans, and training materials.
• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills and interpersonal ability.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure QA, data integrity, and security of analytic outputs.
• Create and sustain semantic models, data marts, and datasets supporting financial analytics.
• Apply hands-on experience with data engineering and visualization tools, notably Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Understand data architectures, including data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse, and enable data access for ETL to support advanced analytics, BI platforms, reports, and dashboards.
• Integrate data from ERP, EHR, cost accounting, payroll, and ancillary systems.
• Apply data governance, security, and access-control measures aligned with IT and Finance standards.
• Ensure reporting complies with SOX controls, audit requirements, and internal financial controls.
• Develop and maintain documentation and training materials detailing report logic, data sources, assumptions, and calculation methodologies.
• Support Finance leadership during audits, regulatory reviews, and leadership inquiries.
• Serve as the primary BI liaison for Finance, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in cross-functional workgroups with Finance, IT, Clinical, and Operational leaders to promote data literacy and strategic alignment.
• Provide training and support to Finance users on BI tools and self-service reporting.
• Proactively identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve reporting processes.

Requirements

• Three to six years of experience in BI, analytics, or financial reporting, ideally within healthcare.
• Solid understanding of healthcare financial concepts, including budgeting, cost accounting, reimbursement, and service lines.
• Hands-on experience with BI and data engineering tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems such as Oracle, Workday, Lawson, and SAP.
• Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data modeling concepts.
• Fundamental understanding of data repositories and storage designs, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data lakehouses.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a healthcare system or integrated delivery network (IDN).
• Experience supporting Decision Support, FP&A, Cost Accounting, and General Ledger Financial Reporting teams.
• Familiarity with EHR financial integrations such as Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
• Experience enabling self-service BI and implementing financial data governance frameworks.
• Experience with statistical analysis using Python, R, or similar software.
• Experience with Oracle OTBI, Oracle Analytics Publisher, Financial Reporting Center, FDI, SmartView, or CloudMiner is a plus.
• Experience applying AI and automation tools to enhance productivity, analysis, or decision making in daily work.
