Job Description
The Financial Manager at Goldbelt, Inc. in Concord, NH (onsite) helps New Hampshire National Guard Service Members and their Families build long-term financial readiness through tailored counseling, education, and planning support.
Financial Planning & Readiness Support
The role focuses on providing individualized financial readiness counseling and education. Services include guidance on budgeting, debt management, savings approaches, retirement planning, and long-term financial goals. The Financial Manager also supports clients with planning considerations tied to military pay and benefits, including deployment-related finances.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized financial counseling and education to Service Members, spouses, and Families.
- Create household budgets, debt management strategies, savings plans, and long-term financial goals.
- Advise clients on military pay, entitlements, benefits, retirement planning, TSP, Social Security, and education benefits.
- Deliver financial readiness briefings for new recruits, deploying units, retirees, and other designated groups.
- Provide specialized counseling on the financial effects of military mobilization on Federal Technician and civilian employment, including USERRA, military leave, FEHB, and TRICARE.
- Develop educational materials and financial readiness content, including retirement and benefit resources and videos.
- Participate in two annual retirement seminars and conduct deployment-related financial readiness briefings as requested.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and comply with applicable privacy and program requirements.
- Coordinate with NHNG leadership and other readiness professionals to support holistic Service Member and Family readiness.
- Support outreach activities and promote available financial readiness services to geographically dispersed Service Members and Families.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, debt management, retirement planning, and investment principles.
- Knowledge of military pay, benefits, entitlements, TSP, Social Security, and Federal retirement programs.
- Knowledge of financial considerations associated with military deployment and mobilization.
- Strong presentation, counseling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with Service Members and Families while maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Current Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
- Minimum 5 years of professional financial planning, counseling, or related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials and complete applicable background screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully complete the required background investigation and security screening.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
