Financial Services Specialist (Jr. Banker)
Job Description
Support branch sales and service delivery by building banking relationships through proactive outreach, responsible execution, and referral-based partnership.
Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned individual and/or team financial, production, and relationship results against metrics and goals.
- Engage customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach.
- Represent the bank in the community when appropriate by attending and participating in civic and community events to generate business and identify potential CRA opportunities.
- Use sales practices designed to create value for both customers and the bank.
- Partner, plan, and prepare to ensure conversations include the financial guidance needed for informed decisions.
- Maintain collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects, and colleagues.
- Initiate conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities.
- Listen to understand customer needs and preferences; ask insightful questions; take prompt actions to address immediate needs.
- Optimize performance by seeking coaching, supporting bank initiatives, and leveraging tools to enhance daily activity.
- Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures, and delegated authorities to manage risk across credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal aspects of interactions, transactions, and exposures.
- Complete required training by established deadlines.
- Perform general office management duties as assigned to maintain operational efficiency.
- In roles responsible for deposits, ensure transaction accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support sales and service delivery in the branch.
- Build and expand banking relationships through proactive customer outreach and customer service requests.
- Fulfill deposit accounts, payment solutions, digital access products, and lending; identify and refer sales opportunities to the appropriate bank partner.
- Adapt to branch needs by providing customer service in both transaction processing and a sales role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent plus one of the following:
- 2 years of experience in Sales or customer service
- 6 months of experience in a customer support role at First Citizens Bank
- Participation in a First Citizens career development program
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred: Telephone sales experience.
- Ability to apply a structured sales process.
- Provide financial guidance and expertise.
- Financial literacy.
- Knowledge of retail banking products and services.
- Build rapport with different personalities to drive positive results.
- Self-starter with discipline to manage daily calling activity to meet required results.
- Interpersonal communication skills for proactively engaging in conversation.
- Customer service skills with professionalism and empathy.
- Adaptability to learn and adapt quickly to new information and technology.
- Teamwork and ability to build strong working relationships with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Flexibility to handle multiple demands and shift priorities efficiently.
- Agility to process information and move quickly through problem resolution.
