High Performing Core or Senior level Java Developer

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Portfolio Implementation Technology team in Needham, MA. In this onsite contract role, you will design, build, and support systems that implement investment decisions, with responsibility for delivering reliable technology across the full lifecycle.

Role overview

As part of the Portfolio Implementation Technology team, you will help translate investment-related business needs into software systems that are designed for durability and impact. The position includes full delivery lifecycle support and participation in architecture and technical decision-making to balance near-term delivery with long-term platform health.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components and applications across the full stack, including web, mobile, desktop, and platform-level services
• Influence architecture and drive technical decisions across the team, balancing delivery timelines with long-term platform health
• Partner with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to translate business needs into clear requirements, specifications, and test plans
• Support the full delivery lifecycle, including design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and production support

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing durable, impactful software solutions, with exposure to AI-driven agentic engineering practices
• Comfort working with SDLC tools such as issue tracking (JIRA, Linear), source control (Git), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and common development environments (VS Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse)
• Experience using AI tools including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
• Cloud platform experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and TypeScript, with database experience in Oracle and/or MySQL
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
