Role overview

The role focuses on assembling and validating financial data, producing insightful analyses, and building models that inform strategic decisions. You will manage the budgeting and forecasting cycles to help align financial plans with business objectives, working hands-on with data and accounting systems to drive accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Update and verify data within the accounting system.
• Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial data.
• Review historical results, conduct variance analyses, identify trends, and propose improvements.
• Lead the preparation of financial reports and budget documents.
• Oversee the annual Operating Budget and the Capital Budget processes.
• Assess current capital expenditures, depreciation, and related analyses.
• Analyze trends and forecasts and recommend actions to optimize performance.
• Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Execute complex accounting duties related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing/inventory, reconciliations, revenue, and payroll.
• Maintain and innovate accounting computer systems as requested.
• Lead special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
• Coordinate backup responsibilities for Year-end, Manager Meetings, Special Discounts, and Rebates.
• Perform month-end close tasks.
• Understand and regularly review key business drivers.
• Maintain Access databases essential for business functions.
• Conduct market research, data mining, and business intelligence activities.
• Prepare semi-annual and annual reporting requirements.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a related position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Exceptional skills with Excel, Access, MS Office, and PowerBI.
• Experience working with large data sets to develop scalable financial reporting solutions.
• Agriculture industry experience preferred.
