Security Floating Ambassador

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Flex Officer to support a financial center in Downtown Pittsburgh. This role is focused on patrol coverage, entrance and exit monitoring, and responding to incidents in line with site Post Orders, with shift pickup based on availability.

Role Overview

The Security Floating Ambassador performs security patrols of designated areas using foot or vehicle coverage. The position also monitors entrances and exits, watches for irregular or unusual conditions, and coordinates appropriate notifications when safety concerns arise. Shift assignments are managed through a shift-pickup platform that allows you to claim open shifts according to availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or contact police or the fire department in cases of fire or unauthorized persons on site
• Address rule violations by warning individuals about issues such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Allow authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to help protect company property and ensure removal of property follows appropriate client requirements
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; prepare reports and maintain required written logs for the post
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to customers, employees, and visitors
• Complete emergency notifications as necessary in accordance with site Post Orders

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Background investigation required as a condition of employment in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law
• Minimum age 18 years (or higher if required by state; 21 years if armed)
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately
• Active listening and problem-solving skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
• Teamwork and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (examples include Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience

Compensation & Location

• Location: Pittsburgh, PA (onsite)
• Pay: USD 25 - 50 per hourly
• Minimum Experience: 5 years
