Senior Financial Advisor - Experienced Professionals

First Command is seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to serve as an independent contractor for existing clients in Alexandria, VA. This onsite role focuses on high-touch, consultative planning for military families, long-term relationship building, and meeting performance goals through referrals.

Role Overview

The advisor will work directly with clients to provide comprehensive, advanced, personalized financial planning that adapts as needs change. The position also emphasizes expanding the advisor’s practice by building referral relationships, particularly within the military community.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Identify and adapt to each client’s evolving financial goals across wealth accumulation, preservation, and legacy planning. Conduct regular client meetings to review circumstances, measure progress, and adjust plans in response to life events, economic conditions, and regulatory changes.
• Deliver Advanced, Personalized Planning: Create and implement sophisticated financial plans tailored to military families, integrating investment management, retirement income planning, tax strategies, insurance solutions, day-to-day finances, and estate considerations.
• Provide a High-Touch Client Experience: Maintain long-term relationships through a service approach focused on clarity, confidence, and responsiveness. Deliver consistent value and guidance to support informed client decisions.
• Engage the Military Community: Build relationships with local advocates and centers of influence to generate referrals and other opportunities.
• Drive Results and Grow Your Business: Meet performance goals by delivering personalized financial strategies, generating revenue, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Drive Results and Grow Your Business: Expand the practice through strong referral networks, with an emphasis on the military community, while identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing client engagement.

What You’ll Do

As an experienced Financial Advisor at First Command, you will provide comprehensive financial guidance that evolves with clients over time. Your work will cover trusted advisory services, advanced planning, a high-touch client experience, engagement with the military community, and business growth.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, with a strong history of building and retaining client relationships.
• Skilled in portfolio and wealth management, with the ability to incorporate financial products into long-term planning strategies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to connect with clients and build trust through meaningful, long-term engagement.
• The drive and discipline to run your own independent business, including flexible hours and the opportunity to earn unlimited income based on commissions and performance-based incentives.
• Military experience or affiliation is strongly preferred.
