Abbott Diabetes Care Global Quality Assurance and Compliance, based onsite in Alameda, CA, offers a clear path for finance professionals to shape robust planning, analysis, and accounting support for a global QA function. Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close for the Alameda-based Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area, aligning with Division and Corporate reporting requirements.
- Prepare and validate journal entries in collaboration with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams.
- Deliver actuals reporting and perform variance analysis against forecasts.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on schedule, explain fluctuations, and review analyses with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly.
- Forecast and analyze operating expenses, capital and project costs, and balance sheet items for the Global QA and Compliance area.
- Manage assets for the Alameda QA and Compliance area, including settlement and periodic verification.
- Ensure internal controls are followed and maintain financial governance standards.
- Act as a finance liaison, providing guidance and support for forecasting and business decision-making within QA and Compliance.
- Participate in ad hoc meetings and projects within Global Quality Assurance and Compliance.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure the financial planning framework supports efficient, data-driven decision making for senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or economics.
- 3 to 5 years of financial analysis or FP&A experience.
- Ability to design, implement, and manage financial information systems and processes.
- Strong knowledge of integrated financial analysis and reporting standards and principles.
- High proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication across multiple organizational levels.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data, make recommendations, and solve problems.
