Job Description
Transamerica in Cedar Rapids, IA invites you to join as a Senior Financial Analyst in a hybrid, collaborative environment. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $80,000 to $100,000, a broad benefits package, and meaningful opportunities to influence forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic decision making.
Responsibilities
- Extract financial data from multiple accounting and information systems to support analyses and insights.
- Analyze financial data, define relevant information, and interpret results to reflect past performance or project future outcomes.
- Choose and apply appropriate methodologies to prepare information for stakeholders.
- Interpret financial transactions and events for users and provide recommendations to inform economic or business decisions.
- Leverage a deep understanding of the business to proactively develop financial reports and complex forecasting models for trends and results analysis.
- Support reporting needs with analysis and trend reporting to inform leadership.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Contribute to project teams or take a lead role on projects as needed.
- May participate in due diligence activities as part of initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to resolve issues that impact business success.
- Apply broad knowledge of concepts and principles, or demonstrate technical expertise in a specific area, working with limited supervision on moderately complex tasks requiring originality and judgment.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s internal controls framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a degree.
- Advanced computer skills.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work arrangement with in-office days in Cedar Rapids, IA (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
- Fast paced, deadline-driven office environment.
- Occasional travel up to 10% of the time.
