Job Description
Within IMI plc’s manufacturing operations, the Senior Financial Analyst delivers budgeting and planning support, strengthens internal controls, and leads ad hoc projects, providing clear financial insight to plant management and operations. This hybrid role welcomes candidates in reach of Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, or Detroit, MI.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily management, maintenance, and reporting of sales and orders for the Americas region.
- Prepare and populate monthly actuals for IA Americas and Americas Admin, input data into the IMI reporting tool, and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Utilize monthly reporting and forecast data to generate insights, identify trends, and raise concerns to Finance leadership.
- Lead validation of data entry by Americas sites for weekly, monthly, and quarterly submissions into the IMI Reporting Tool.
- Analyze manufacturing cost trends (materials, labor, overhead), identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Advance financial processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy through automation and continuous improvement.
- Provide financial insight as a strategic partner to plant managers, supply chain leaders, and operations teams.
- Consolidate and issue the monthly Sales and Profit flashes to IA Americas.
- Support the compilation of the IA Americas reporting package for senior management.
- Prepare and distribute various weekly and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform various month-end reconciliations.
- Assist the Finance Manager with items that support the monthly variance analysis process.
- Collaborate with Cost Center owners within IA Americas and Americas Admin to establish budgets; review cost center performance monthly and communicate actions to owners.
- Under the Finance Manager, help develop forecast and budget presentation packages.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and/or financial reporting.
- Manufacturing or cost accounting experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with a range of accounting concepts and practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; detail-oriented with discretion for confidential data.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with persistence to resolve issues and present options.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, organizational, analytical, and communication abilities (written and verbal).
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, time-critical environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, nested formulas) and Access.
- Experience with JDE, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP platforms; implementations experience is a plus.
- Experience with Cognos, Hyperion, or other financial consolidation and reporting systems.
