Job Description
This onsite role in Seattle, WA is a Senior Financial Analyst position within Amazon.com Services LLC, supporting Goodreads and AbeBooks under WW Programs. The analyst will own end-to-end financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and controllership, partnering with senior leadership to steer strategy across two global book businesses. The role offers a yearly salary range of USD 82,700 to 117,100.
Responsibilities
- Develop long-term, annual, and quarterly forecasts for WW Programs, delivering variance analyses and insights to senior Finance and business leaders
- Support end-to-end planning cycles including data gathering, financial modeling, and submission across topline, headcount, and operating expenses
- Build and maintain financial models for new opportunities and cash flow initiatives to inform investment decisions and long-term strategy
- Own the P&L and drive core processes such as Annual Operating Plans, Long-Term Plans, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages with variance analyses, bridges, and operational commentary for senior leadership
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure ledger accuracy, support month-end close, and oversee reconciliations with essential accounting knowledge
- Lead revenue and expense deep dives, translating data into actionable recommendations
- Engage with stakeholders across product, operations, and leadership to surface the financial impact of business processes
- Support launch readiness for initiatives with financial, tax, or compliance implications, and produce ad hoc analyses for key business decisions
- Support tax and compliance reporting across multiple jurisdictions, providing data and reconciliations to internal tax teams and external auditors
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve financial processes to reduce manual work and enhance data integrity
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
- 4+ years applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- 3+ years dissecting financial data and identifying patterns to support business strategy
- 3+ years contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
