Senior Financial Analyst – Expense Management & Governance
Job Description
Enterprise Community Partners is creating a newly established Senior Financial Analyst position within its Corporate Finance team to strengthen enterprise-wide expense management, governance, and forecasting. Based in Columbia, MD (onsite), this role serves as a central point of accountability, supporting leadership with forward-looking analysis, standardized processes, and tighter financial controls.
Role focus
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will own the development and management of operating expense budgets and forecasts, ensuring projections remain accurate, risk-aware, and aligned with Enterprise priorities. You will also set and enforce standards for discretionary spending, expense governance, and compliance with established Finance guidelines, while delivering reporting that highlights variances, performance insights, and practical next steps.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing management of enterprise-wide operating expense budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure forecasts are forward-looking and aligned with strategic priorities, identifying risks and opportunities as they emerge.
- Establish and enforce standards for discretionary spending, financial policies, and expense governance.
- Drive consistency across the organization and ensure compliance with Finance guidelines.
- Produce timely, high-quality expense reporting, including variance analysis and performance insights.
- Partner with cost center leaders to explain trends, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate business cases for headcount, discretionary spending, and strategic investments.
- Use financial rigor, benchmarking, and productivity metrics to assess ROI and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with division leaders, cost center managers, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance leadership to support decision-making and improve cost discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, expense management, or cost governance.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and supporting enterprise decision-making.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
