Senior Financial Analyst/Specialist
Job Description
Great American Insurance Company is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst/Specialist to support long-range planning, forecasting, and decision-ready reporting in the Financial Division.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to inform strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Build, develop, and maintain complex financial models for forecasting future performance and evaluating risks and opportunities.
- Lead long-term financial planning and annual budgeting activities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Update forecasts to reflect shifts in business conditions and market trends; reconcile internal accounts as needed.
- Track and analyze KPIs and financial metrics to assess overall company financial health.
- Produce and present detailed financial reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders, including actionable insights and recommendations.
- Identify and assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect financial stability.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal controls.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights supporting operational and strategic initiatives.
- Explain complex financial information clearly to varied audiences, including non-financial stakeholders.
- Drive continuous process improvements and apply best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value creation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Typically 6+ years of experience in Financial Analysis or Accounting.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Professional designation completion or progress preferred, such as CFA or CPA.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency with financial tools, including Excel and financial planning software.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools; CoPilot preferred.
- Excellent analytical ability to use data to assess situations, identify problems, and develop solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business conditions and changing strategic priorities.
- Provide technical advice and support to lower-level positions, management, and other departments.
